9. Non-Standard Browsers
Phones have evolved greatly since they were first made portable. To that end, one of the biggest revolutions in phones is when people were able to start actively using the internet via their mobile devices. And with new technology and Wi-Fi, that became a go-to thing for phones. However, there is a danger if you’re not accessing the internet from the right app.

8. Apps That Give Away Your Information
While this second one may be obvious to an extent, as you should never install an app that gives away your information, it goes toward a key part of app downloading. Do. Your. Research!
You might be thinking, “Why would I need to research an app?” Well, that’s because sometimes a popular app changes, and what it does without your knowledge changes too. What’s more, while an app may look innocuous, it could be hiding something very disturbing.

7. RAM Saving Apps
One of the hardest things to do on a phone is make sure you don’t use up too much data and battery life on the apps you have and maintain. It happens, I know. And no one wants to end up with a dead battery because of their choices. So, you might be tempted to find an app that can help empty your RAM a bit and keep your battery alive a little longer.

6. Performance Boosting Apps
When I’m using my phone, I want to use it without any hassle or complaints, especially when I’m at home. And then there’s nothing worse than when my phone gets slow for one reason or another. Much like the RAM saving apps, you might be tempted to try and get one that will boost your phones’ performance. Like the previous entry though, they rarely do it.

5. Pre-Installed Apps
Let me ask you something, when you got your new phone, did you look at what it already had on it? Be honest with me now, I really want to know. You didn’t? You probably should.
Why? Well, because these apps were put there for a reason, but that reasoning wasn’t yours, it was the manufacturers. For while they don’t know who exactly will buy one of their phones, they are trying to sell things within it, and because of that, certain apps are installed that will run regardless of whether you actually use them.

4. Antivirus Apps
Let me paint you a picture. You’re on your PC, and you go to a site that you trust. You’re reading an article and click on a link to find a source. Unbeknownst to you, that site contains a virus! What do you do? That’s right, you likely don’t have to do anything, as the computer has an antivirus program protecting your computer from getting hurt. This is arguably one of the most important parts of the computer. Which, would make you think that having an antivirus software app on your phone would be logical. There’s one problem though, it honestly doesn’t need it.

3. Battery Saver/Phone Charger Apps
Let me ask you something, what’s worse than dealing with the possibility of a virus on your phone? That’s right, having no battery power left on your phone. Early on in cell phone life, one of the easiest things was keeping the battery power going. After all, if you weren’t using your phone, there’s nothing to drain your battery, right? Well, as things got more complicated, so too did the effects it had on your battery.

2. Pointless Apps
Does this sound vague? Well, it kind of is, but it’s an intentional kind of vague. The true is, apps are like candy (go with me on this) at a candy store. They all look so appetizing and pretty, you just can’t help but want to try them all. But, just like eating too much candy, getting too many apps, especially pointless ones, can make you unhealthy.

1. Knockoffs Of Apps Or Games
In apps, as in life, not everything is free, and that’s fine. People should be paid for their work. However, as we are humans, or we hope you’re human… we always look for a new way to “cheat the system” and get something we want for much cheaper. Can’t get a video game at full price? Find a way to pirate it! Can’t get the “name brand”? Get a just as good general brand!
