This weeks upcycle by Delightful DIY is a set of Ikea laminate shelves. These are 20 years old approximately and ready for landfill. I wanted to introduce some real timber elements to these plastic coated chipboard and this meant cladding with pine for a farm house effect. I really love the final look. I used Dixie Belle paint and Rust Oleum paint and lacquer to reflect light back onto the shelves then finished with a farmhouse hand sand to create a more rustic approach.
