A quick and easy way to create a beautiful, custom-looking runner for your stairs is by using Ikea rugs! I will show you how I used the Ikea SÖLLINGE rugs and hacked them into a stair runner. I got my inspiration from Alexandra Gater’s DIY stair runner and the Sorry Girls stair makeover.

My old carpet had become worn and picked by my cat, and the old wool carpet didn’t stand the test of time. This Ikea hack saved me some money but is also suitable for my home and the traffic my stairs gets.
This hack will work with any Ikea rug but the one I used was the affordable SÖLLINGE. You can find more information on this product on your local Ikea website.
